Nature Tree Wood Turning

Dubbeld Hout Draaien is located in Dordrecht. I was born and raised there, you could say perhaps an "island person" who can only leave via the bridge and can always go to a river. I have been involved with nature from an early age, especially in the Dordrecht side of the Biesbosch. Head of the land, the Merwelanden and the tongue plate rows of Willows and Poplars, Ashes, Alders. From my background as a gardener, I have knowledge about trees and the different types of wood. Before woodturning, I was already a woodmaker, mainly making small furniture, mainly made of fresh wood. My father-in-law Bas taught me how to turn on his self-made wood lathe with his homemade chisels. I started to feel more and more like making something beautiful out of a lump or stump of wood. A few years later I joined the Ambachtshonk, a workshop in Dordrecht, where I could improve my skills. In 2017 I followed a woodturning masterclass with @Glenn Lukas in Ireland.
